Revival starts with Repentance.
The book of Joel begins with the Lord’s judgement on Judah and Jerusalem, which comes in the terrifying form of a locust infestation, drought and the coming of a great army. Then came the “day of the Lord” when God’s people are called to seek and return to Him so that this calamity and crisis will be averted.
Will God’s people repent and return to him?
Will they move from inevitable destruction to restoration to dwell with him? If his people do return he will turn their loss into blessing and restore what their sin has ultimately destroyed.
The Lord Himself promises Judah He will dwell in His people by pouring out his Spirit to His people.
In the period of Lent, are we willing to repent, return to the LORD and experience His Spirit pouring into our lives?
