Youth Autumn Term 2017

The Autumn Term for our Youth Ministry commences on Sunday 10th September 2017 and runs until Sunday 17th December 2017, before the Christmas Holidays.

Please refer to The Next Generation pages to find out more about our ministry groups and our disciple-making process, plus dates and details of events throughout the term.

Junior Youth Groups will be covering the following series:

  • Forgiveness – The Power of Second Chances

If there’s one truth we all want our young people to grasp, it’s the grace of God. “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.” Our prayer is that this gospel of grace will transform the lives of our junior youth.

  • The Greats – What Matters Most in Life

This short series engages with what Jesus said was most important… loving him and loving others, culminating with an activity for Mission Sunday: Operation Christmas Child.

  • God Is… – Celebrating God’s Character

As the church sermon series on the character of God comes to an end, our junior youth will be wrestling with some of the big characteristics that may seem paradoxical. By recognising God’s presence in their lives as he reveals himself – his true self – our junior youth will be drawn into a relationship built on the truths of who he really is.

Senior Youth Groups will be covering the following series:

  • Dealing With Doubt – Wrestling With Our Confusion

As the church sermon series points us towards truth, our senior youth begin the year by wrestling with times when we doubt the truth. We might think of doubt and faith like oil and water, but doubts and questions are growth opportunities in our journey of discipleship. We want to face them with honesty and conviction, and draw closer to Jesus in the process.

  • The Great CommandmentsLoving God and Loving Others

After some time figuring out their own personal faith, the church – including our youth – gears towards Mission. Jesus challenges our understanding of faith, showing us it’s about love. This short series ends with an opportunity to put love in action: Operation Christmas Child.

  • The Kingdom is Coming…Exploring the Parables of Jesus

Jesus spoke extensively about the Kingdom of God. It’s a hard concept to understand, and an even harder one to live out. As we go into the season of Advent, the parables of Jesus help us to see how he invites us to live as Kingdom citizens in the present, but also as we await the day he comes and makes all things new.
