Please submit “I will” Mission Form

Mission Sermon Series week 1 on 17 Nov 2024

Different speakers for each congregation whom have on-field experience in missions, to discuss “non-conventional missions” such as tentmaking, business for missions, medical missions etc.

The situation in our world is becoming extremely complex; the fulfillment of God’s mission cannot rely solely on conventional missionaries. We need both conventional and non-conventional  missionaries. People can take their professions into mission fields when God calls them to leave their home country. They can use their professions to serve people and also demonstrate the lifestyle of being followers of Jesus. Speaker to choose own scriptures for 30 mins sermon.

Mission Sermon Series week 2 on 24 Nov 2024 Mission Sunday

Keynote speaker ~ David Doong (Ph.D. in Theology, Fuller) is currently the general secretary of CCCOWE (Chinese Coordination Center of World Evangelism). He is a pastor (10 years in U.S. ministering to Chinese international students, young professionals, and 2nd generation Chinese Americans; 2 years in Taiwan), an adjunct professor in various seminaries (teaching “Practical Theology and Contemporary Issues” and “Ministry Practices in a Pluralistic Society”), and the author of “Practical Theology as Discipleship”. His passion is to be a bridge-builder between different generations, cultures, and disciplines, exploring faithful ministry practices in today’s pluralistic world dominated by the market economy and ideological conflicts.

Moreover, discipleship is key in cross-cultural missions. How do non-conventional missionaries make disciples through their professions? How could missionary gain experience in discipling unreached people? How does a missionary become a missional disciple in missions? … Speaker to choose own scriptures for 30 mins sermon.

We know God doesn’t call a certain number of people to become missionaries; He calls the whole church to bring the whole gospel to the whole world. While not everyone becomes a career missionary, everyone can be a missional disciple where they are—such as in school, the workplace, and their communities. Therefore, David Doong’s message on the 4th Sunday could encourage brothers and sisters to be His witnesses in the workplace, bringing God’s love to their non-Chinese background colleagues. These may be Muslims, Hindus, atheists, Jews or other faith expressions. You are the one to show them God’s love, not career missionary!

Whether you are a career missionary or an “ordinary believer,” we need each other to fulfill God’s plan for mankind. So, be God’s witness in your workplace now; in the future, you may bring your profession to an unreached nation to be His witness (Acts 1:8).
