Section 2

Step 1: Complete and return the Self-Declaration Form.
Note: If you are serving regularly, you will then require an enhanced check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).

Step 2: Follow the instructions on our DBS Applicant Info Sheet to submit an online DBS check application.
Note: If you already have an enhanced DBS check for the child workforce issued within the last two years, send a copy to our Safeguarding Mailbox and skip the remaining steps in this section.

Step 3: Send three identity documents according to the ID Documents Guide to our Safeguarding Mailbox.
Note: The DBS check application cannot be processed until the identity verification is complete.

Note: Your DBS certificate will be sent directly to your home address to be retained for your own records. We do not require a copy as we will receive a digital result, but you may be asked to produce this document in the future.
