CCiL 71 Anniversary Sharing – “Give Me This Mountain”

Happy Birthday 71

Last year our church 70th Anniversary was marked by a Thanksgiving and Ordination Service on 17 Jan 2021. It was immediately followed by 70 Days Prayer Journey to Easter and 50 Days of Devotion Journey to Pentecost. The church sermon series theme of “Brighter and Brighter” future was supported by prayer and devotion.

This year, as we enter into our 71st Anniversary, the SPO felt that we should host a church-wide prayer meeting to focus on outreach and evangelism. With the theme of “Fresh Air” in the sermon series, we all need a “breath of fresh air”, which in the Bible, signifies the Holy Spirit (Ruach). The “Ruach” was active at the beginning of creation. It is the same “Ruach” that breathes life, that raised Jesus from the dead, and now living in us and giving life and power to His Church.

Perhaps, some people may feel the strain of a 71 year old, getting a little sluggish.

Not in the words of Caleb in Joshua 14, “Here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me… Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day;… and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.” Caleb’s zeal to claim the “land to be possessed” for God was not quenched by the toil of his age. “Give me this mountain” was his desire.

There is indeed much land to be possessed in London, many strongholds to breakthrough and many lost souls to be won. We would like to thank all of you, joining us in prayer on Friday evening and every day, to climb this mountain, to claim this land in your local congregations as well as our evangelistic outpost in East London in 2022 and beyond. Let us continue to call upon the Lord to “give me this mountain!” and claim this land for His kingdom.
