1 and 2 Timothy contain instructions to Timothy on how to lead the church of Ephesus with sound doctrine and godly conduct through firm faith. In urging and encouraging Timothy, Paul modelled the same theology faithfully in his own life to the very end. He showed that legacy was built through personal discipleship and mentoring and not just in words alone.
