Football TournamentCalvin CheungGoing For Gold 2012 is finally finished. Throughout those days, I often heard brothers and sisters said to me, “well done”, “great organizing”and lots of thank you etc. But each time I hear these words, in my heart, I give thanks to God because without Him, none of it can be done and be well organised. I thank God for giving me this opportunity to run the football tournament; He has allowed me to see some expectations and gave me a taster of what it is like to run a “ministry”. It was another step in faith, to rely upon and trust in Him no matter the circumstance or the situation, predictable or unpredictable. His grace is always more than enough and He provision is always the time. Over the six weeks, there were many challenges and moments of disappointment and difficulties.  There were moments when I felt that it was easy to get started but hard to keep going and my faith was tested to the limit. There was time that I felt alone and I was the only man on the boat, I felt that I was in a dry land with no water, but God showed me that He was with me, by His might and His grace. In amongst the tests there were also many blessings and joy especially when prayers were answered.  There were so many joyful moments and testimony of miracles, but here I would just like share with you one lesson that I had learnt in this summer – “You God, are my God, earnestly I seek you, I thirst for you and my whole being longs for you, In a dry and parched land where there is no water” Psalm 63:1.“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him”Psalm 34:8
